Meet Stephen Xavier
Stephen Xavier, America’s Top Coach®, is the founder and CEO of the Cornerstone Executive Development Group, Inc.Truly a pioneer in the field of coaching, Xavier has been teaching and leading personal and corporate development work in the United States and abroad since the founding of Cornerstone in 1987. His expertise lies in the areas of Executive Coaching, Mentoring, Leadership Skills Development, Communications Training and Group Facilitation. Xavier excels at helping America’s Fortune 500 companies maintain strong, visionary leadership through both good and troubled economies.
He spent several years in Japan, assisting executives from organizations such as Kenwood and Sony improve their leadership skill and abilities. This experience helped Xavier understand the value of focusing on long-term strategies, which are extolled in Japan, but often sacrificed to a short-term management focus in America. His client list includes ABC Television Network, Disney, Northrop Grumman, Southern California Edison, TRW, Goldman Sachs and Xerox.
The eclectic nature of Xavier’s skills and experience are incorporated into Cornerstone’s exclusive programs to allow the rich diversity of every organization to emerge. He is a highly trained and skilled intuitive who successfully facilitates people through change processes, both personally and professionally. In particular, Xavier’s expertise in team training helps corporations solve generational issues that often arise around communication in the workplace. Stephen's previous experience includes working in the corporate media department of Textron, Inc., a Fortune 500 Corporation, developing all elements of speaker services for the senior management team. He is a graduate of Lesley College in Cambridge, MA and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management (from that institution). He writes a monthly column on the topics of Coaching and Leadership in US Business Review, Journal for Business Strategy (London) and a wide range of other periodicals. Xavier recently completed his book, Not On My Watch: A Leader's Guide To Negotiate the Impending Retirement Bubble Disaster, Build A Strong Bench and Leave a Legacy of Success, which details his philosophy and offers practical tools and solutions for business executives.
